The Program

This program was executed in Vietnam-Mexico-Nigeria-India, which comprised tailored capacity building activities to improve competitiveness, and strengthening the online offerings, and personalised coaching & mentoring of select WOBs around three broad themes: digital transformation, access to finance and resilience.
The program aimed to provide training, skills and growth opportunities that allow women entrepreneurs to better understand and benefit from global trade.

The program was executed through TWO PARALLEL areas of training:

1. Digital Transformation with an objective to enable selected women entrepreneurs to strengthen their skills in order to be able to export around the globe, by integrating solutions to address the complex and wide-ranging challenges that women entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses face to trade.

Selection Process & Program Milestones:

Call for Applications started on 9th Sept 2020 entry with a Deadline of receipt of Applications by 20th September 2020.
The beneficiaries were selected by a meticulous process as stipulated by ITC.
Selection of Women Owned Businesses(WOBs) from Textile and Apparel and Agribusiness sectors in the digital basic business management strategies and who are exporters or near ready to export.
- Training imparted to all selected WOBs, covering major topics like Online presence optimization – Digital Marketing | E-commerce | Considerations when conducting business online.
- Handholding & Coaching sessions provided to select participants (selection criteria as applicable) in groups of no more than five WOBs per session.
- Follow up with the WOBs upon completion of the last coaching session and ensure that they have developed a comprehensive digital strategy and gained access to at least two international online marketplaces.

2. Access to Finance to facilitate the connection between eligible women-owned and women-led businesses (WOBs) of India to financiers for scaling up their businesses.

Selection Process & Program Milestones:

Call for Applications started on 9th Sept 2020 entry with a Deadline of receipt of Applications by 20th September 2020.
The beneficiaries were selected by a meticulous process as stipulated by ITC.
Boot Camp workshop for select WoBs which covers :
- Strategic and business planning.
- Financial modelling and financial projection.
- Basic financial management and accounting (financial literacy).
- Taxation in India.
- Sales and Marketing.
- HR Management.
- Presentation from at least 3 financial institutions/investors.
Business / financial assessment of SMEs that participated at the boot camp and selection were based on the businesses’ level of readiness to access external capital (investment, grants, or loans).
One on One coaching Sessions of the selected WoBs, which included mentoring for preparation of business/financial plans, pitch deck or teasers for presenting it to probable financiers.
Connection of selected WoBs to financial institutions were done for funding and post finance handholding to ensure that each SME follows the developed business plan.

Eligibility Criteria

Any woman more than 18 years of age.
Owner of more than 30% of an Enterprise, while also running & managing it.
Registered Enterprise with an Udyog Aadhar or Udyam Registration & PAN.
Exporter or Near Readiness to Export.
